Centering Practice

Visio Divina

  1. Ask God to open the eyes of your heart so that we might see what God wants us to see
  2. Look at the picture — notice where your eyes are drawn to
  3. How is God speaking to you? Why do you think God drew your attention to this part of the picture? Is there an invitation? A call? Is there a word that comes to mind as you look at the picture?
  4. What is your response to God?
  5. Look at the picture once again and say a prayer in response to what God has revealed to you through looking at the picture.

Call to Worship/Creed

In life and in death we belong to God.
Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit,

we trust in the one triune God,
the Holy One of Israel,
whom alone we worship and serve.

With believers in every time and place,
we rejoice that nothing in life or in death
can separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Worship Songs

Sound of Adoration

When we were lost ones
You were the Shepherd that carried us home
When we were prodigals
You ran to meet us with open arms
And we can’t hold back our praise

When we were refugees
You were the One who took us in
When we were enemies
You paid the price for all our sin
And we can’t hold back our praise

This is the sound of adoration
Oh, how we love You
Jesus, we love You

You are the joy of all creation
Oh, how we love You
Jesus, we love You

You are the Risen One
You conquered death and made a way
You sang our freedom song
Now we are dancing on our chains
And we can’t hold back our praise

By the cross, I am free
Your grace changes everything
I was blind, now I see
Your grace changes everything

Invitation Fountain

All who are weak
All who are weary
Come to the rock
Come to the fountain

All who have sailed
on the rivers of heartache
Come to the sea
Come on be set free

If You lead me Lord I will follow
Where You lead me Lord I will go
Come and heal me Lord I will follow
Where You lead me Lord I will go
I will go I will go

All who are weak
All who are weary
Come to the rock
Come to the fountain

All who have climbed
on the mountains of heartache
Reach to the stars
Come on give Your life

I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken

Passing of the Peace

Family Song

Jesus You’re My Superhero

Blessing of the Children

Go in peace and go in joy;
Filled with wonder for this day.
Go in faith and go in love;
God will guide you on your way!

Worship Song

I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all

All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken
Take me Jesus, take me now

All to Jesus I surrender
Make me Savior wholly Thine
May Thy Holy Spirit fill me
May I know Thy power divine

Scripture Reading

Philippians 2:1-5, 12

If, then, there is any comfort in Christ, any consolation from love, any partnership in the Spirit, any tender affection and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or empty conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus…

12 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence but much more now in my absence, work on your own salvation with fear and trembling

Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
Together: Thanks be to God.

Worship Song

You Hold It All Together

You come at the right time
When I least expect it
Never behind

So why would I be surprised
When You deliver every time

On mountaintops, You stay the same
In valleys low, You never change

And I believe that I will see
The goodness of the Lord
I’m confident as seasons change
Your faithfulness remains

You go, You go before me
To prepare a blessing
You madе a way

It’s more than I could imagine
More than I can fathom
Or comprehend

God of my present
God of my future
You write my story
You hold it all together

Benediction
