Trinity Sunday
Centering Practice
Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday — the mystery of our faith in the Triune God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit; Creator, Redeemer & Sustainer.
- Begin by closing our eyes and taking several slow, deep breaths
- Because we worship God in community, we invite you to get into a group of 3 and (within 20 seconds), do a three-person handshake greeting!
Call to Worship
In life and in death, we belong to God.
Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit
we trust in the one triune God,
the Holy One of Israel,
whom alone we worship and serve.
With believers in every time and place,
we rejoice that nothing in life or in death
can separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
Worship Songs
Sound of Adoration
When we were lost ones
You were the Shepherd that carried us home
When we were prodigals
You ran to meet us with open arms
And we can’t hold back our praise
When we were refugees
You were the One who took us in
When we were enemies
You paid the price for all our sin
And we can’t hold back our praise
This is the sound of adoration
Oh, how we love You
Jesus, we love You
You are the joy of all creation
Oh, how we love You
Jesus, we love You
You are the Risen One
You conquered death and made a way
You sang our freedom song
Now we are dancing on our chains
And we can’t hold back our praise
By the cross, I am free
Your grace changes everything
I was blind, now I see
Your grace changes everything
Great Are You Lord
You give life
You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope
You restore
every heart that is broken
And great are You, Lord
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
To You only
All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord
Prayer of Confession
God of love,
You created us and You know us
even better than we know ourselves.
For the ways we give into selfish impulses;
for the ways we turn away from You;
for the ways we resist forgiveness and mercy;
forgive us, O God, we pray:
— Moment of silent prayer —
God of hope,
redeem our past, restore this present moment,
and redirect our future steps
to walk in the ways of Your love.
Amen.
Assurance of God’s Love
Prayers of the People
Today, the Trinity will shape our prayers on behalf of others. After each phrase, we will hold a moment of silent prayer. At the end, we will pray out loud together. Let us pray:
For all of God’s creation — people, places, and all created things — to know and experience the healing of God:
For the redemption of broken hearts, lives, and systems — to be renewed in the strong love of Christ:
For creativity and light to break through the darkness all around us — to be illuminated by the fire of the Holy Spirit:
Holy, Triune God,
in You is the light of life.
In Your mercy, hear our prayers.
Amen.

Worship Song
Build My Life
Worthy of every song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You
Jesus, the Name above every other name
Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, we live for You
Holy, there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder
And show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love
To those around me
I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken
Scripture Reading
Galatians 3:23-28
23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
Together: Thanks be to God.

Reflection Questions:
- Turn to a neighbor and talk about a favorite piece of clothing you own: what do you love about it? What do you think it says about you?
- When you think about “being clothed in Christ” what’s an attribute or characteristic of Jesus that you hope people will see in you?
Worship Song
Open Up
You heard the cry of our hearts
And You came down
Freely You gave us Your love
Showing us how
Make me an instrument of Your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is darkness
Let me shine light and…
May Your love
Cause us to open up
Cause us to open up our hearts
May Your light
Cause us to shine so bright
That we bring hope into the dark
All that we do without love
It means nothing
Grant us the courage to give
As You’re calling
Hope for the hopeless
Your love is
Strength in our weakness
Your love is
May we love
As You love
