Thanksgiving Sunday

Entrance/Centering Practice
  • Psalm 100:4 • “Enter the gates of the Lord with thanksgiving in our hearts and enter God’s courts with praise”
  • Take a fruit-shaped note, write something you are thankful for, and add it to the tree of thankfulness

Call to Worship

Based on Psalm 105

Give thanks to the Lord and call on God’s name;
Make God’s glory known among the nations!

Remember the wonders the Lord has done;
Sing glorious praise to God!

The Lord our God is faithful
to a thousand generations! Amen.

Worship Songs

The Fruit of the Spirit

The fruit of the Spirit’s not a coconut
The fruit of the Spirit’s not a coconut
If you wanna be a coconut
You might as well hear it
You can’t be a fruit of the Spirit

‘Cause the fruit is
Love, joy, peace, patience
Kindness, goodness, faithfulness
Gentleness and self-control

Banana…

Watermelon…

Lemon…

Cherry…

Grape…

Great Are You Lord

You give life
You are love
You bring light to the darkness

You give hope
You restore
every heart that is broken
And great are You, Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise

We pour out our praise

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise

To You only

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

  • Thanks for worshiping with us today! We hope you experience meaningful connection with God and others in our community. • Gift of Thanks: As part of today’s worship gathering (and inspired by last week’s Sunday School art project!), we will give a donation of fruit trees through World Vision as part of a special offering today.
  • Reset Sunday: Next Sunday, November 30th, we will not gather in community because it will be a Reset Sunday! More details during our Scripture exploration.

  • Weekly Advent Devotions: We are making weekly devotions (one set for individuals and one for families) available — we’ll share them with our whole church electronically and will have a limited number of printed copies each Sunday. Please start these devotions during the week of November 30th!
  • Advent Gatherings: Sunday, December 14th, will be a special day of interactive prayer and worship (during our normal worship gathering time). We will also have a church Christmas party on Saturday, December 20th!

Scripture Reading

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

9 Two people are better than one.
They can help each other in everything they do.

10  Suppose either of them falls down.
Then the one can help the other one up.
But how miserable if a person falls down
and doesn’t have anyone to help them up!

Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
Together: Thanks be to God.

Worship Song

My Hallelujah

Open up the doors again
Let the King of glory in
His Kingdom will never end
Oh, I know that You are good

Break the darkness with the light
All the earth let praise arise
Every dead place come alive
Oh, I know that You are good
Oh, I know that You are good

You will have my hallelujah
You alone the highest name
All to You I surrender
Every breath I take
Make my life Your praise

Oh, Spirit of the Living God
Fire burning in my heart
I’m wide awake to who You are
Oh, I know that You are good
Oh, I know that You are good

You are my strength when I am weak
You are my sight when I can’t see
As praise goes up, I believe
The walls are coming down

Oh, when I was lost, You rescued me
When I was bound, You set me free
As praise goes up, I believe
The walls are coming down
